Did You See the Fashion on Pretty Little Liars? Cat’s Cradle

Yes, I’ve gotten to the point in my life where I only watch Pretty Little Liars to find out what they are wearing. Let’s face it, this whole mystery thing has taken too many turns. A good book has turned into a strange television show starring mid-twenty somethings who look gorgeously fab walking around in the woods with a new mystery every episode. So, let’s just focus on the fab part, shall we?

Aria’s character was looking sexy as hell in this outfit. If she had walked into my apartment looking like that, she definitely would have gotten a little more than some cute eye flirtation and we definitely would not have just sat around talking about a black and white film all night. With her hair down on the sides, those earrings, that skirt; Aria’s character is in full 1960s/modern mode and in season with the style. I know so many people who are afraid to wear black in the warm months. Why? If it looks good on you and the fabric is right for the weather, go for it!

spencergreen-300x243This next outfit isn’t on the list for its greatness, but for its meekness. I’m a girly girl, and I love to put my hair up and wear long flow dresses, but this outfit is wrong every way you look at it. Spencer’s character, played by Troian Bellisario, has such a small frame. Too many pieces of clothing, or draped fabric just can make her look frumpy or old. Which is exactly what happened here. I see Pretty Little Liars fashion stylist Mandi Line tried to work it around her frame by tying the grey belt around that cute belt jacket. But with a dress that has such a bright color, it really doesn’t draw our eyes away from the fact that this is not working. This outfit ages her ten years. Although, these white boots are really nice. Too bad they are with an outfit that is just not working for the wearer. Fashion note, just because it is in style does not mean you should wear it. I had to learn that the hard way when low-rider jeans came out.

hanna-cutout-284x300Hanna, my love and fashion mate. This outfit is just too cute. I am dying for a party to go to so I can wear this out. This teal jacket is timeless. I feel like someone could have worn this on the set of Beverly Hills 90210 (the original), and clearly someone could wear it on the set of Pretty Little Liars today, and everybody would be in style. Cut outs are big this season, so are animal prints, but I haven’t seen that many outfits that work the two trends together cohesive. It’s nice to see the two together without aging the wearer. The bus is great; it holds in the girls without giving too much away to the eyes. Cute and sexy all in one.

emily-jeans-135x300Cannot miss this episode without talking about those kick-ass pants that Emily’s character had on. Emily’s character is getting real lesbian rocker sexy and I am loving it. I’m not even that rock and I would wear these jeans all the time. Just goes to show when you have the right accessories, the clothes are a piece of cake. So let’s dwell on the bag a little bit and give it the “Oh my God” moment it deserves. I love bags that have little tassels and fringes on them. This bag retails for about $375, and it’s perfect for a bag lady like myself who always has tons of stuff to carry, but doesn’t want to look like a bag lady.

Did You See the Fashion on Pretty Little Liars? Dead to Me

I know its late, but good fashion is never late. Side note, as a Pretty Little Liars fan Spencer’s character is getting on my last damn nerves right now. Ok, now back to the clothing at hand.

hanna bloopSome fans might criticize style director Mandi Line’s choice to put Hanna’s character in overalls, but let’s be honest, she is in the country. She cannot walk into a barn in the country wearing 4-inch stilettos without ruining them permanently. Sometimes a girl needs an outfit that’s cute enough to jump in the mud with. I love a good pair of overalls, reminds me of my childhood filled with them, and I think Hanna’s character looks totally cute in them. Plus with her perfect make-up and hair people Hanna did not stray too far from her character. She’s still Hanna. Just farm girl who might want to wear Chanel every now and then Hanna.

ariaI don’t put Aria’s character on these posts as often as I’d like, because the fashion choices for her character are so different from my own. I’m a thrift shop girl as is her character, but she’s on like another thrift shopping planet that Macklemore didn’t even discover to rap about yet. Although, when I saw these pants, I knew we were on the same page. Hate the top, because cats are weird and throw up their own fur ball hair, but I love the pants. I rarely see metallic pants that have a print. These lovely little doo-hickies are made by 7 For All Mankind.

41e2fb6453c16fa5854d36208e93c2d6The pixie dust from Aria’s fashion stick must have struck my eyes several times today because Aria looked amaze in this outfit. Recently I’ve noticed fashion lines and people straying away from matching within the same color palette. Not wearing blue jeans if they have on a blue top and blue earrings. No more black on black on black. But with this outfit, who cares? The girl looks good and it works. Line, the stylist for Pretty Little Liars, must be a closet rocker, because she is always picking suck detailed motorcycle jackets for the characters. This leather jacket is collar-less, and it also has that drape flap thing going on. Love. I usually don’t like blouses on young people; I think they age us a little. But the blue leopard print blouse paired with the jacket keeps Aria’s character not just young but ahead of all the fashion trends of the season.

aliI am a sucker for any clothing line that can take clothes from the past and update them for today. It was rarely noticed, but this cute little fifties inspired dress that was worn by Alison’s character was one of my favorite fashion pieces of the season, hands down. This halter dress is perfect for girls with strong shoulders, weak shoulders, girls without a bust, girls in the Big Titty committee; hell, anyone who wants to wear this dress. It’s perfect for summer. The pattern would be a bit outdated, but Pretty Little Liar stylist Mandi Line is on top of that. Pairing the dress with this cute woven belt keeps it current and fresh. I want it now!

Did You See the Fashion on Pretty Little Liars? Turn of the Shoe

emilys-cropped-jacket-pllUmm…who told Emily’s character she could dress all sexy and grunge like? I thought we were going for the lesbian with no style all wild approach. Nice improvement this week Pretty Little Liars stylist Mandi Line! First piece I wanted to grab right out of this episode was the cropped army jacket Emily’s character wore. One of the things I love about Pretty Little Liars is the fashion stylist for the show, Line, tries to shop at the rich boutiques and the stores these girls would hit up if they were really sixteen and living in America right now. This great jacket, which can be worn up or down is $20 and can be found at Topshop. And who gave Emily’s character this bag and didn’t give it to me?!

hannas-orange-jacket-silver-jeans-neon-stud-top-336x580The day I stop dreaming about being in Hanna’s closet is probably the day I’m in Hanna’s closet. The girls wardrobe is just too fierce, imaginary person, character, whatever. The chick looks good in what she wears. Did anyone else notice a color theme in this episode? All of the characters seem to stay in the same color hues throughout the episode. It seems like Hanna was stuck in the land of orange and sea green. Let’s start off with the cool orange jacket. I get the feeling I could wear this at a rock concert or walking into Saks on fifth avenue and feel like the diva in either setting. It’s a motorcycle jacket from one of my favorite online stores Free People. Those nice silver leggings that are just dying for a night at the club are from Bar III. Haven’t heard of them yet, but since they are on Pretty Little Liars, I guess we can expect more in the future. The thing that ties the whole outfit together is the studded top. It’s a camisole by Silence and Noise
